I did try replacing one of the +2 damage pets with a +2 objective pet, and it destroyed the pattern. So without any +objective pets, I'm usually getting +2 deathclaws killed per encounter. Then, the last deathclaw backtracks to the unarmed nuka cola plant and dies. then two deathclaws advance to the science lab, and one dies there.
Usually, the deathclaws are softened up by my guards just enough that the first deathclaw dies as soon as it enters the nuka cola unarmed room.
Note: my average vault dweller level is 50, and I'm playing on normal. If you have an elevator somewhere else on the floor, this may not work as well because the deathclaws will not backtrack through the unarmed room. IMPORTANT: the only elevator on this floor is between the entrance and the middle room. End room: 2 wide science lab, 4 dwellers with Plasma rifles (important), room is fully upgraded. Middle room: 3 wide nuka plant, 6 dwellers, unarmed, with 3 +damage parrots totaling +10 damage (Polly +6, Bogart +2, Sunshine +2). Entrance: 2 guards equipped with dragon maws, room is fully upgraded (to my chagrin). If it's worth it, here is how I'm set up (Note: this will be most useful for advanced players as I'm using some legendary gear): Normally, I cancel these objectives unless the reward is a lunchbox or even better, a pet carrier. Not sure if it is covered elsewhere in this sub, but I figured I'd share my method. I finally stumbled on a good method to complete these objectives.
