Upon being fired with a lock, the rocket will chase the target until hitting any solid object or running out of fuel, where it will disappear harmlessly. Note that the weapon can lock onto not only mobs, but any entities, like Minecarts or Paintings for example. Once the lock is achieved, you can aim away from the target for 4 seconds without losing the lock (you can for example fire a homing missile vertically into the air to have it curve around the terrain). After aiming at the target for 1 second, the missile launcher locks on and a homing rocket can be fired by pressing left mouse button.

Holding down the right mouse button and aiming at any entity will cause a lock-on reticle to appear on screen. The main and obvious difference is the presence of the guidance system, activated with the right mouse button. The Rocket leaves the atmosphere at approximately layer 1200 on earth. The Guided Missile-Launcher performs similarly to the regular Rocket Launcher, being identical stat-wise.Note: breaking the vehicle causes it to lose all its fuel. Relax and enjoy your flight! After some time you see the Planet Selection Screen. Once you started into space, you can use W/A/S/D to control your Rocket, but flying straight up is enough. It is highly recommended to have full Oxygen Gear and a Parachute with you! You can check Fuel Level and inventory by hitting F and you can take off by pressing 'space'. Now enter your Rocket by right-clicking it. Now place a Fuel Loader adjacent to the Rocket Launch Pads and fill your Rocket with Rocket Fuel. Right-click the launch pads with your Rocket and you should see your Rocket standing there. For voyaging to space with your new Rocket, you also need a Rocket Launch Pad as a base station.
